Port Of Wilmington

The N.C. State Ports Authority is based in Wilmington on 284 acres at the western terminus of Shipyard Boulevard. The authority runs ports in Wilmington and Morehead City, and inland terminals in Charlotte and Greensboro. Tom Eagar is chief executive officer of the agency. www.ncports.com

Container berth improvements were completed. Four new cargo cranes were delivered and put into service. Purchased approximately 600 acres on the west bank of the Cape Fear River for development of a new container port.
